Polyurethane coatings are protecting many different structures today, such as storage tanks, oil and gas pipeline, water and wastewater, bridges, ships, and other facilities. The products have been effective because of their outstanding life expectancy and performance, resistance to aggressively corrosive environments, high abrasion resistance, fast application, strong adhesion, unlimited film build, and compliance with the most rigorous regulations on volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
Properties :
The properties of 100% solids polyurethanes vary from soft elastomers to hard, ceramic like systems. Elastomers are better suited to protecting substrates that tend to move and flex like concrete but do work as well on metallic substrates. The chemical and corrosion resistance of the elastomers can be improved if the systems are applied relatively thick. 100% solids polyurethane coatings offer very unique handling, performance and environmental advantages. To the end users, this means a greater assurance of achieving the desired result on time and on budget. are 100% solids, having zero or near zero VOC's. These Coatings are resilient and withstand accelerated weathering conditions.
Application :
These are applied by plural component airless spray equipment. It is ideally suited for the areas where higher DFT build is required as a protective barrier. The coating has excellent film build capabilities and can achieve 500 microns to 3000 microns DFT in single application with multiple passes.
Polyurethane coating :
1.are nonflammable, solvent free and as safe as house paint
2.can be put into service within hours
3.are easily touched up if damaged
4.are non-dangerous goods for transportation
5.require no post curing
Application Areas :
~ superior adhesion
~ resistance to chemical attack
~ resistance to abrasion
~ flexibility and resilience
~ impermeable
~ resistance to disbandment forces
Uses :
High build Elastomeric Polyurethane Coatings find uses in critical structures such as:
- Storage tanks,
- Mounded bullets,
- Reservoirs, overhead tanks,
- Marine and off store structures.
- Internal and external linings for pipelines,
- Concrete tunnels and thermal power cooling towers.
